this movie looks amazing, are there going to be any showings in South Florida?

Is this movie ever coming to baltimore/DC area?

i love the film. if you are in a city were it is opening please go and see it. Are there any plans to have it screen in the DC area?

Just saw this film. I’m not really Indie, but as a Black Female 20-something it struck several chords.

Simple and complex, straightforward and nuanced, beautifully true and lovingly awkward- all in all a completely enjoyable piece of art!

I was really hoping that this film would open in Chicago. I’m a big fan of Wyatt Cenac and I’ve been reading about Medicine for Melancholy and I’m intrigued by it. Oh well, I guess I’ll catch it on DVD. Good luck with your film!

While at times worried that I was the guy in the relationship who wasn’t shown, this movie covered a subject that I think about often in a pretty interesting way. Generally pretty raw, it was a good picture well worth seeing. Wyatt definitely has a future past comedy if he wants it (total side note, when I went to the daily show with my wife (only black person there), the warm up comic said “oh, with a white guy, moving on up”… kind of centric topic in the movie and not really talked about anywhere (she’s a lawyer, I’m a software guy, so I don’t think she’s going to get a complex about it, also with the huge number of single black women, they should be dating outside of the race)).

Really pretty good though.

Medicine for Melancholy is not available on IFC In Theaters (Video On Demand) on Time Warner NYC. Hollar at them fools!!!

Just heard you on forum. I wanted to see this movie at the SFIFF but it was sold out. I was nodding my head in 100% agreement with you until you said you couldn’t find any black let alone quality black actors in the bay area. Cudos to your film and I look forward to seeing it on friday, but you’ve bought into the exact stereotype you are highlighting. Their are many very good actors here in the Bay area. I do not include myself in that catagory, but my girlfriend was just in a film in the Sundance Film festival.

I’m a transplanted New Yorker. Your circle must be even smaller than mine. That said, if you had of inquired with the Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, one of the finest theaters in the state, which features 99% black actors, you would of found no shortage of talent. I hope you keep that in mind for your next film.

what’s the word on the dvd?? i’ve been waiting to see this for almost a year. there has been no atlanta showings and i do not have ifc on demand.
